Funny take on a few Tech Buzz Words

IT Admin: We will put our dark data on a pass as we have yottabytes of it.
Manager: Can you shed some light on issue please.

Dark Data – Data that has an ulterior motive, and will tell on you. Hmm, Wouldn’t that be fun? Actually, it might tell on you. How? Reaad on.

The serious definition – It’s that neglected data that accumulates in log files and archives that nobody knows what to do with.

PaaS – Mere PaaS ma hai. Maybe, but this PaaS refers to Platform as a Service.

The serious definition – Platform as a service (PaaS) is a category of cloud computing services that provides a computing platform and a solution stack as a service.Along with software as a service (SaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS), it is a service model of cloud computing. In this model, the consumer creates the software using tools and/or libraries from the provider. The consumer also controls software deployment and configuration settings. The provider provides the networks, servers, storage, and other services.

Yottabytes – Aiyo da – Bytes again? Well, yes.

1 YB = 1000000000000000000000000bytes = 1 trillion terabytes.

Interestingly, if 64 GB microSDXC cards (the most compact data storage medium available to public as of early 2013) were used instead, the total volume would be approximately 2500000 cubic meters, or the volume of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Heisenbug – What if you could get your child to finish his homework or finish studying for the upcoming exams all by himself – just by looking at him? Heaven? Apparently, if you were a Heisenbug, you could.

Heisenbug is a computer programming jargon term for a software bug that seems to disappear or alter its behavior when one attempts to study it. The term is a pun on the name of Werner Heisenberg, the physicist who first asserted the observer effect of quantum mechanics, which states that the act of observing a system inevitably alters its state.

And then the Heisenbug did a double take when i stared at it.
